It is with great sadness that we received news of the passing of our former Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew on 23 March 2015.
Mr Lee has led Singapore through the turbulent days of decolonisation, merger with Malaysia and subsequent separation to economic success and political maturity. His contributions to Singapore are immeasurable, but it was his outstanding leadership to bring the best people in the government that ensured our position today.
His strong focus to eradicate corruption and economic development earned him high respect for generations of Singaporeans and internationally. It was his vision to develop Changi Airport and he saw aviation as a strategic economic activity that led to the development of the vibrant aerospace industry in Singapore today.
On behalf of members of Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers and all aviation professionals, we record our deepest condolences to the Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong and members of Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s family.
